ABOUT US
Hip Hop x Design is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Michael Ford, The Hip Hop Architect. Our mission is to empower the next generation of creative leaders by uniting the innovation of Hip Hop with the transformative impact of design.
Our most popular initiative, The Hip Hop Architecture Camp, is a one-week intensive program that introduces middle and high school students to architecture, design, and urban planning through the lens of hip hop culture. This program has become a national movement, inspiring thousands of students to reimagine the built environment.
Through free and accessible programming, we engage youth in disciplines including architecture, graphic design, interior design, engineering, music production, set design, industrial design, exhibit design, fashion, and more. Grounded in creativity and community, we amplify voices, break barriers, and cultivate a global movement of designers who transform their world—shaping spaces, experiences, and products that inspire and empower future generations.
